Bread making

While Ben's mom was here she taught me her scone recipe. It is great for all kinds of stuff so this day we were having the missionaries over for dinner so I decided to make cinnamon rolls for dessert. So I thought I needed to make a double batch so they could have some to take home and so we could have some for a couple of days. Well, we got more than that. I had about 3 dozen cinnamon rolls and a loaf of bread. We had so many that we decided to give some to Jesse and the Nevels since they have helped us so much the last couple of weeks.

Adding the flour.

Ben made me look at the camera.

kneading the dough. I had to take it out of the bowl to finish kneading it, there was too much to fit in the bowl once all the flour was in.

Ben making me look at the camera again.

And of course Daisy has to help. She wanted to put her hands in there so bad. I finally had to make her wash her hands so she could help me because she kept sticking her fingers in it.

This was after it had risen for about 20 min. The kids thought that this was the coolest most amazing thing they had ever seen. It kinda looked like a mushroom. It had double almost tripled in size within 20/30 minutes.

You can see all the different size cinnamon rolls here. These are the really big ones. This is a serving tray like to serve someone in bed. This was the only thing I had that would hold more than 4 cinnamon rolls. In all I think I ended up with like 48 cinnamon rolls.

This was the plate we sent home with the missionaries.

You can't really tell in this picture but this too had risen a lot more than I expected. This is the largest loaf of bread I have made so far.

Name and Blessing

We blessed Lilly on Sun September 28th

A little collage that I did. See the bottom photo of Lilly, she is smiling!!!

Isn't she just the cutest? This is the same dress that we blessed Daisy in. It looks just like a wedding dress only baby size. Daisy calls it her wedding dress so its pretty fitting that it look like one. =)

This photo was just before she took a head dive, not that you can tell, but I still like it.

I was kinda hoping that she would push up on her arms for this one but by this point she was pretty upset and just wanted to sleep. So this was as good as it got.

Over all it was a great day. We had Tom (Ben's brother), Jesse (my brother), Matthew Nevels (family friend), Louis Bottoms (Laurel Simpson husband/family friend), and Bishop Mingus were all in the circle. The blessing it self was nice too. Afterwards we had a little luncheon. We served taco soup and a veggie tray. You can't have good food without some dessert so we also had some cupcakes made by Eva Siebert a family friend from church.

Random Pictures

I wanted to post some pictures that I wanted to share but none of them really had much to do with each other, so I am just going to put them on here for your enjoyment.

This was just after gma showed up. If you can't tell Daisy just loves gmas earrings.

I have to laugh at this pic cause Daisy really didn't know what to do with Rhett but when she did warm up to him this how things ended up. She just loves her "uncle ratt" (that how Rhett comes out when she says his name, it is so funny)

This was on our way to church just before Rhett left to go back home. Daisy had to make sure that Uncle Ratt didn't leave with out hugs and kisses. She looks so old with her hair done like this, and her clothes that she has on.

We tried to tell Rhett that this wasn't church attire but that the Lord wouldn't hold it against him so he just needed to come. But that wasn't good enough, he wanted to go home and see his girl. Who could blame him. He had been at our house 4 days.

Isn't this the cutiest pic ever??? Ben loves holding his little girls.

Daisy loves to hold Lilly. She asks about 20 times a day if she can hold her.

This is a pic that gma took the day she left to go back home. It was raining so she got a really good one of Zach without him squinting his eyes. This was just outside the front door waiting for the bus.

This has to be one of my favorite pictures that we took while gma was here. How cute that all the girls are in their pjs sitting together chillin out.

This is a pic of my gma so this makes it Lilly and Daisy great gma.

First Day of School

The boys started school on Aug 21st. These are the pictures from the first day.

Tim in his styling new clothes and new airaitors (sp?) (the shoes).

Take a look at that hair. He wanted it left long so he could spike the front up! Mister Cool!

Zach didn't want the flash going off in his eyes. Every picture that I took of him came out like this or eyes completely closed. But still cute!

He's the big man on campus this year. He's a fifth grader this year, so he has to look the part. Styling his new skater clothes. We've had to tell him that he can't wear his new clothes every day, he has to wear different clothes each day. So he has three or four new outfits and wants to wear them all the time. We have to make him wear different clothes.

Daisy in her rain coat since it was raining cats and dogs that day.

Don't they look very grown up?

First time I've been peed on

CAUTION: Includes graphic language. Like pee and poop.

Now I know some of you are already laughing and thinking how can she have 4 children and never have been peed on but I'm talking Peed on.

So here how the story goes. We got home from picking Ben up from work this morning and Lilly was extremely fussy because she didn't eat to well before I left to get him. So I decided to change her diaper since she was stinky and she has a little rash on her bum. So I decided to leave her diaper off since she just peed while I was wiping her off I thought all was well. I took her clothes off since she is still a little jaundice to give her some sun too and didn't put a diaper on so her bum could breath. As soon as I picked her up and put her into my arms I said "as long and you don't pee on me all is good." Ben just looked at me and smiled, knowing the kids haven't done that before. No sooner than I got those words out of my mouth I felt warmth.

Ahhh, I thought ok it's not going to be that much because she just peed in the diaper when I was changing her. But to my surprise she just kept going. It was so much that she completely soaked my shirt, my pants and my undergarments. = ( I didn't know something that little could do that much damage. But wait the story gets better!

Needless to say I now need to wash and change, so I go upstairs to shower and get dry clothes. While I'm up their Tim asks me why I'm striping down? I quietly tell him cause I know he will laugh and sure enough Blahh haaa. Nice to have your 8 year old laughing at you while you stand in pee. So I go jump in the shower and clean up, get dressed and come back down stair to finish what I started which if you remember was to feed my starving new born.

Ben looks at me and says she pooped on me. I was like no she just peed on me. He immediately proceeds to tell me NO Lilly POOPED on ME! I of course burst out laugh just as Tim had done to me and said while laughing "I'm sorry what happened" He was being a good Daddy and trying to air her out as instructed by his loving wife who had abandoned him during her time of distress. As soon as I walked upstairs she let go even more. Now for those of you who have changed breastfeed babies you know that those are the messiest diapers ever. Imagine that in your hands.

You can stop laughing now. Back to the subject of not being peed on before. Now I have been squirted on but nothing like this. I can defiantly say this was a new experience for me.

I hope that this gives you some kind of an up lift for those of you who need a little laugh. Or as for my family a huge belly laugh. Enjoy!

Baby Lilly

Lilly Marie was born Thursday August 14, 2008 at 1:44pm

She weighed in at 7 lbs 9 oz

We arrived at the hospital at 5:50am, got checked in and waited for the doctor to come in to let the nurses know what we were going to do for the day. I was thankful that we had 2 awesome nurses. The gave me a pitosen drip till 12:00 and then broke my water. I went from 4 1/2 to 5 before my water was broken to an 8 in a matter of seconds. As soon as that was done things went fast. The nurse wouldn't even leave my side. I had told her earlier in the day how my labor goes once they break my water so she was a little worried about leaving me alone. They didn't want me to deliver this baby with no one in the room like I did with Daisy. Needless to say all went well and now we have another wonderful baby to welcome to our family.

(the pictures are kinda in a crazy order)

After Lilly was cleaned up

Dad holding his 6th grand child, hopefully not his last, he wasn't having a good day but still came to see the new one. They were not for sure how many more times he was going to get to see her before he started his chemo.

Awe, isn't she cute!

Dad has cancer

I have been hesitant to put this one here since we really didn't know to much until now and didn't know how to answer questions if there were any.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 (non-small cell) lung cancer. They have given him 12 months if he does chemotherapy and7 mo with no treatment. It kinda sucks because I'm trying to focus on having a baby or at the time NOT having a baby and then we were told this. My mom is really upset and emotional, with good reason. Most of us kids are handling it o.k. i think??? I'm not for sure how I will handle things once I have the baby. I have really not dealt with or thought about my dad having cancer because of all the craziness with this pregnancy, so I am kinda worried that when I finally have her and don't have anything to distract me anymore(plus the hormones) that it will hit me like a ton of bricks. But for now I keep marching on.

They kids have had lots of questions. Mostly Zach cause Tim and Daisy just know that grandpa doesn't feel good. Zach is very perceptive and listens to every thing that is sad when grandma come over. With that being sad they got to spend the weekend at grandma/pas one last time since we don't know if dad will be able to be around little kids with the chemo.

Originally they thought that he had lymphoma, which we were going to save cord blood to help him but now with this new diagnosis cord blood won't do anything for him. At first Ben and I were excited that we could help but now, there isn't much that we can do. So we just have to sit and wait. Hopefully, he will start his chemo soon and get some relief from the pain that he is in.

New house

We completely love our new house! We still have some work to do to get things unpacked and placed where they belong but other than that we are pretty good. You have to excuse the mess we are still working on things when we get a chance. Ben has been working very had to get things were they go on his off week. I can't wait till this little one comes out so I can help. Just one more week.

Stats on the condo. We have 4 bedroom and 3 baths. I know, i know, 3 baths way to many to clean but the kids are only allowed to use the one upstairs by their rooms.

On the main floor we have our living space which includes our open kitchen/dining room/living room area to the back of the house. There is a bathroom and a bedroom to the front of the house that we use as a playroom so the living room doesn't get messed up as often. (we will she how that goes). Then at the entry way there is a little nook that we have decided to use to hold all our books and family pictures. That is also where the stair are.

Upstairs we have 3 bedrooms. To the left of the stairs is the boys room. They are very, very excited to NOT share a room with Daisy or the baby. Then straight off the stairs is the 2nd bathroom. To the right is the girls room. We haven't done much with it yet we are using decorations for that room as bribery for Daisy being good. If she sleeps all night in her room by herself we get her a blanket, if she doesn't sass then we get her some chairs, you get the picture. So hopefully in a couple of months there will be lots more decorations in there. Further down the hall is a laundry room and linen closet. All the way at the other end of the hall is our master bedroom with bath.

We love this house! Lots of room, lots of space to have company. So look forward to your invitation for dinner.

Rock Stars

Daisy and Rachel had lots of fun being Rock Stars!!! They thought that this was the most fun anyone could have with a guitar and drums.

Daisy kept saying she was H.annah Mo.ntana rock star, I'm rocking star!

It was very cute watching the two of them play together with the rock.band stuff.

Zach's Birthday Sleepover

Playing rock.band

Opening presents

I learned from my past mistakes this year and only let Zach have two friends over for his b-day sleepover. (A couple of years ago for Tim's b-day we had 10 boys, just a side note, 10 boys/small house = big holes/lots of fights)

They were both boys from church, who might I say are very good boys. We had pizza, ice-cream, cookies, or should I say lots of cookies. The boys played video games most of the night since that seems to be what 10 year old boys like to do. My brother brought over his Rock.Band game for them to play and it was the funniest thing to watch. They had lots of fun trying to stay in the band and not lose the music. It is much harder than it looks especially if you have never played before.

One of the boys (Steven) has guitar.hero at home so he did really well with the guitar but they all took turns with each instrument. It was hilarious.

They stayed up till about 1am or thats when I made them turn everything off. You know how sleepovers go. Talk, Talk, Talk! =)

Over all I think the boys had lots of fun. Needless to say Zach can't wait to have another sleepover. We finally have enough room for people to be here so we may be asking friends over a lot more often.
